3 Families in Zambia have a New Home

The team is back home in Canada and we are so happy now that 3 families have a new home in Linda Compound, a township located in the outlying area of Lusaka.  These houses will provide shelter for 19 people, 15 of them are children.

Thanks to the local skilled tradesmen, the families, the staff at Habitat, The Salvation Army and our teammates Jeff, Eisha, Rick, Peggy, Ellen, Susan, Mike, Lisa, Brenda, Katie, Mark, Haley, Barb & Jim.  Our team member Ellen has put together some photos to capture our short and wonderful time in Zambia that will be in our memories forever.

A Decent Place To Lay Their Heads

Team Zambia is making their final preparations to start their journey to Africa. We’ll see each other soon on a different continent. Have a safe trip everyone.

“Everyone who gets sleepy at night should have a simple decent place to lay their heads, on terms they can afford to pay.”

All Team Members – Updated Info – A Must Read!

The New 2013 updated Global Village Handbook. Very useful information, particularly for NEW team members, a MUST Read!  and also a good refresher for returning people. Print it and bring it with you, it will be great reading on your long flight over. Preparing yourself as much as possible to come into the country that we have been invited into to help build homes for families is one of the most respectful things we can do as a member of a Global Village Team. Let’s be  as informed as we can be, about the people, their customs and their country.
